AI Use, Data Protection & Human-First Practice Policy for S. Daniels Consulting
Last Updated: 11/6/26
Our commitment to people-first consulting, responsible technology, and the protection of information entrusted to us.
1. Our Human-First Philosophy
At S. Daniels Consulting (SDC), we believe meaningful organizational change begins with people. Our work is grounded in the understanding that organizations are human systems. Their cultures, leadership practices, decision-making structures, and capacity to execute are shaped by the experiences, relationships, perspectives, and contributions of the people within them. This belief guides how we advise, assess, facilitate, and partner with clients.
We recognize that artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies offer opportunities to improve efficiency, support research, and streamline business operations. However, technology does not replace the human insight, professional judgment, contextual understanding, or relationship-building required to address complex organizational challenges.
People come first. Technology serves a supporting role.
SDC's use of AI is guided by this principle. We do not rely on AI as a substitute for human leadership, professional expertise, critical thinking, or the individualized attention our clients deserve.
2. How We Use Artificial Intelligence
SDC uses AI-enabled tools selectively to support internal business operations and improve administrative efficiency.
Our internal applications may include:
-
Administrative Automation: Supporting routine administrative tasks, workflow efficiencies, organization, and internal productivity.
-
Business Development: Identifying publicly available information about prospective clients, market developments, procurement opportunities, and potential business partnerships.
-
Research and Information Gathering: Supporting preliminary research, information organization, and the exploration of publicly available resources.
-
Internal Operational Support: Improving the efficiency of selected business processes and internal workflows.
AI tools are used to support these activities, not to independently make consequential business, client, employment, or professional decisions.
AI-generated information is subject to appropriate human review and verification. SDC remains responsible for the accuracy, appropriateness, and integrity of its business communications, recommendations, and work products.
3. Client Data, Confidentiality & Information Protection
Protecting client information is a fundamental responsibility and an essential part of how SDC conducts business.
SDC does not enter client data, confidential client information, or proprietary client materials into public or third-party AI systems.
This includes information obtained through consulting engagements, organizational assessments, stakeholder interviews, strategic planning sessions, client documents, internal reports, and other confidential communications or materials.
We do not use client information to train, develop, or improve AI models.
Our commitment extends to information that may identify individual clients, employees, organizational stakeholders, funders, beneficiaries, or other individuals connected to an engagement.
Client information is handled in accordance with applicable confidentiality commitments, contractual requirements, and relevant data protection and privacy obligations.
We also expect any consultants, contractors, or other authorized representatives working on behalf of SDC to respect applicable confidentiality and information-handling requirements.
4. Human Oversight & Professional Accountability
AI tools can produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or biased information. Their outputs require discernment and appropriate verification.
SDC maintains human oversight over the use of AI-supported tools and does not delegate professional accountability to technology.
Our consulting recommendations, strategic assessments, facilitation practices, and client-facing deliverables are grounded in professional expertise, critical analysis, and an understanding of each client's circumstances.
We recognize that effective organizational consulting requires more than information processing. It requires the ability to interpret context, recognize organizational dynamics, understand human behavior, navigate competing perspectives, and exercise sound professional judgment.
These responsibilities remain human-led.
5. Marketing, Communications & Creative Materials
SDC values authenticity, originality, and the integrity of its professional identity.
We do not use AI-generated graphics or AI-generated visual artwork in our marketing materials, brand imagery, or visual representations of our firm.
Our visual identity and creative materials are developed and selected through human-directed processes that reflect the firm's values, professional standards, and brand positioning.
We believe authentic representation matters, particularly for a firm whose work centers on people, relationships, and organizational culture.
6. Responsible Use & Legal Compliance
SDC is committed to using technology responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and professional standards.
Depending on the nature of the information and the applicable circumstances, these obligations may include requirements relating to:
-
Data privacy and protection of personal information.
-
Confidentiality and information security.
-
Intellectual property, copyright, and ownership rights.
-
Consumer protection and truthful business communications.
-
Anti-discrimination and applicable civil rights protections.
-
Contractual, regulatory, and industry-specific data handling requirements.
Our practices are informed by applicable federal and state laws, including relevant privacy and data protection requirements, and are subject to the specific obligations governing individual client engagements.
SDC recognizes that laws and regulatory expectations concerning AI and data protection continue to evolve. We will periodically review our practices and update this policy as appropriate.
7. Our Ongoing Commitment
We believe innovation and human connection should strengthen one another.
As SDC evaluates and adopts new technologies, we remain committed to protecting the trust placed in us, maintaining professional accountability, and ensuring that technology enhances rather than diminishes the quality of our work.
Our approach is simple:
-
People before platforms.
-
Professional judgment before automated conclusions.
-
Confidentiality before convenience.
-
Authenticity before artificial representation.
-
Responsible innovation in service of meaningful results.
We build capacity that lasts. And we believe lasting capacity is built by people, strengthened by sound systems, and supported by technology used responsibly.
8. Policy Updates & Contact
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in SDC's business practices, technology environment, and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
